1. The National Apprenticeship Org: - Youtube Video
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy at NC State University, launched Spring 2020, will prepare 5,000 highly-qualified AI professionals from across the nation through paid apprenticeships with industry partners and two credential pathways. In addition to meeting workforce demands, the AI Academy focuses on growing the diversity of the AI workforce. Supported by a four-year, $6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, the AI Academy is one of the labor department’s current 28 public-private apprenticeship programs.
While completing coursework for one or both of the Basic or Advanced pathways, apprentices will work at least 20 hours per week alongside an AI professional in industry. Qualified applicants include professionals currently working in computer science (CS) or information technology (IT) fields, as well as unemployed or underemployed individuals who have a combination of experience in CS or IT and coursework or a degree. The program is especially designed for individuals from underrepresented groups, veterans and other transitioning military populations.
You must apply and take some placement tests. Even if you are unsure of the joining the program, the placement exams are a great way to get an idea of your level and where you may fit into any education program.
